It's hard to believe that the vibe of a little town in northern Georgia can shift so dramatically from one week to the next, but that's just what Helen does when the VW community comes to play.
AVF Show, or Alpine Volks Fair, has called Helen home for several years now, but it doesn't make each May any less special. This year, I dragged my best bud, Tobias (@tobiastrousers), along with me because, despite being one of the first people I found on VW Vortex back in the mid-2000s, he had never trekked south for any of the events that have taken place in Helen over the years.
With the help of our friends at Eurowise, we paraded not one, but two different lifted Porsche Cayennes around Helen, Georgia for the week, capturing photo and video content of anything and everything that crossed the lenses. This is the first of many parts, so buckle up.
In case you missed it with Fixxfest, there are two different ways to see my photos nowadays. The first is where you can see and download low-resolution photos for online, personal use. Please feel free to find anything you like and make sure to tag @morethanmoreusa when you share it!

The second gallery is all the same photos, but high resolution and available for purchase as various printed sizes and materials, as well as a digital download.

These are all the same photos, but two different ways to use them. Clunky? Yeah, and I hate it. But until I figure out a better process, it's what I've got for ya! But wait, there's MORE!!!
I've decided to make a photo book of all the things we did, saw and shot throughout our week in Helen. Not a small feature in a magazine, but 120+ pages of wide format, high res photos of all sorts of cars, people and dogs around town. More details below:

Fixxfest is back, baby! And so was I! AND so was Tobias!
After a five year hiatus, Justin Welty and the whole Urotuning crew brought back Florida's most diverse VW/Audi/Euro car show back to its home at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Under it's new ownership (Cletus McFarland and the Freedom Factory), the drag strip was opened to European car enthusiasts, drag racers and pie-eaters alike for a long day in the Florida sun—and then rain!
When Tobi (@tobiastrousers) and I first decided to run down to Florida for Fixxfest the plan was loose. Shoot some stuff and post about it, while sneaking away to snap a couple features for the next VW/Audi calendar and other print projects in the pipeline (stay tuned for more on that later!).
While I finish up our little video of the event, please take a look at the full photo gallery by clicking the link below:

There's literally HUNDREDS of motion shots of cars entering and leaving the event too, so maybe we caught you rolling!
As summer was wrapping up and my former favorite month of the year (September) was quickly approaching, I made the last-minute audible to travel east for Roots Classic 2023, a pre-2000 VW show in Wildwood, NJ. With a rental car full of camera equipment and no real plan, I descended on this familiar east coast beach town with no idea how it would spit me out the other side.
But first I think I owe you all a little context. For years and years, beginning when I still lived back in Washington state, September marked a time when the stateside VW scene's annual pilgrimage took place. From thousands of miles, VW enthusiasts traveled east to the now-infamous beach town of Ocean City, Maryland, to partake in a long weekend of VWs and Audis, G2Gs in parking lots and an eventual show at the Ocean Downs horse track just outside the city limits. I had first seen coverage of H2O International in Performance VW Magazine (@pvw_mag), around the first time a really picked up a camera.
